Bradford Travelodge

A new five-storey, 69-bedroom city centre hotel with ground floor space for retail, leisure and commercial units, and external realms works located within close proximity to Bradford City Centre.

The hotel, which features a glazed frontage, is designed to create an ‘enclosed street’ arrangement with the listed buildings opposite the site. Materials have been selected to both ‘ground’ the building in its context and to express a modern development within a sensitive location.

The main entrance and public frontages of the hotel building are accessible from the primary public realm areas.  At ground floor level the building perimeter is skewed to create a covered route adjacent to the hotel entrance and commercial space and open up views through the site for pedestrians.

The hotel building reflects the simple, repetitive nature of the bedroom accommodation within. Soft landscaping, tree planting and paving are used to reinforce the linear nature of the site and to highlight pedestrian routes across the site.
